Prentice family from London UK census of 1881 a John & louisa had seven children: Richard,Henery, Ellen, John, Louisa, Emily and Amy.in 1901 census shows John married Mabel(from Kent) and had a daughter Daisy(born around 1896/7). There is a Daisy Prentice who in 1937 went to Chicago and applied for naturalisation but am not sure if she is part of this prentice tree. Louisa married a man called Campbell. Amy married in man called Walter Cook in LondonUK in 1917.

For whoever is interested, I have today found that Olive Ethel aka Olava Ethel was born approx. 1892 in Exeter, Devon. This is according to her probate 1966 in Queenstown, South Africa. It also states that her marriage with James Prentice Bryce took place in Cathcart C.P. (no date) which I presume is in South Africa. She may have been baptized Ethel Maud White in 1892, daughter of James White and Emily Whitfield in Exeter.

According to your records James Prentice Bryce 1874-1958 was married on October 28, 1898 to Olive Ethel White (Tuppy)-1966 in Paisley, Renfrewshire,Scotland. I have not been able to confirm this record. If you have any details, in particular about Olive Ethel's age and parents, I would very much appreciate it if you could add some details in order to complete a family tree.

I have an old Prentice Vise #75. I believe it is cast iron and is cracked clear across the base, but my grandfather, who died in 1952, had put a large square clamp on it and it is still functional. I know if it is cast iron, it is a process to weld it. Just wondering how old it is, how much it might have cost. It is a rather large and heavy vise.
