Benjamin Prentice was born about 1855-1862, perhaps in Canada, or perhaps in England, Ireland or Scotland. According to the IGI, he married Jane/Janet Kelly on either 18 Oct 1882 or 1 Nov 1883 in Carlow Twp., Hastings, Ontario. She was b. 23 Mar 1866, dau. of Abner Kelly and Elizabeth Cowal/Cowell.
Benjamin and Jane/Janet had at least two children:
- Benjamin Prentice, b. 26 Apr 1886 at Boulter, Hastings, Ontario.
- George Samuel Prentice, b. 17 Mar 1888 at Boulter, Hastings, Ontario.
He married Mary Etta Lauox and had:
- Melville Emerson Prentice, b. 11 Oct 1918 at Greenview, Hastings, Ontario.
