1. Rick A. Prentice was b. 28 Jan 1957, Storm Lake, IA, and d. 30 Aug 2013, Alexandria, Minnesota. He was the son of Lawrence and Lena Mae Prentice of Nelson; His obituary reads as follows:

    Rick Prentice, 56 of Alexandria died Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria.

    Rick Allen Prentice was born on January 28, 1957 in Storm Lake, Iowa the son of Lawrence and Lena Mae (Sassman) Prentice. He moved with his family to Nelson, Minnesota where he was baptized and confirmed in the Fahlen Lutheran Church. Rick attended the Carlos School and graduated from the Jefferson High School in Alexandria in 1975.

    Rick and Patricia Anderson were married on January 30, 2009 in the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake, Minnesota. They lived in Alexandria, where he had worked at the Colonial Club, then Fingerhut for thirty years, at Tastefully Simple for eight years, and presently was working for Menards. He had built his own home, he enjoyed landscaping, old cars, painting, loved the outdoors and especially spending time with his family and friends. Rick was a member of the Eagles in Alexandria.

    He is survived by his wife, Patty; parents, Lawrence and Lena Mae Prentice of Nelson; five siblings, Judy Miller, David (Carol) Prentice and Terry Prentice all of Alexandria, Colleen Gibson of Baudette and Patty (Jim) Lindemann of Alexandria; two brothers-in-law, Craig (Deb) Anderson of Dilworth and Tim (Deb) Anderson of Alexandria; by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and by his dog, Abby.

    Funeral Service: 11 am, Friday, September 6, 2013 at the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 7 pm at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Clergy: Reverend Jake Dyrhaug. Interment: First Lutheran Cemetery in Battle Lake. Funeral Home: Glende-Nilson of Battle Lake
