1. Joe Prentiss may have been b. c. 1925-1935 at a presently unknown location. In 2003 he was apparently living in Southaven, TN, where his wife died.

He m. Marie Wakefield, b. c. 1936 and d. 18 Feb 2003, Southaven, TN, dau. of Dorothy Wakefield of Northport, AL. Her obituary reads as follows:

MARIE PRENTISS, 67, of Southaven, homemaker, died Tuesday at her home.

She was a Baptist. Mrs. Prentiss, the wife of Joe Prentiss for 46 years, also leaves a daughter, Regina Hall of Nesbit; a son, Joe W. Prentiss of Horn Lake; her mother, Dorothy Wakefield of Northport, Ala.; three sisters, Peggy Webb of Mobile, Ala., Wilma Hodo of Buhl, Ala., and Ila Mae Clanton of Panama City, Fla., and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven with burial in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Children of Joe and Marie:

1. Regina Prentiss. She m. Mr. Hall of Nesbit.
2. Joe W. Prentiss of Horn Lake, TN.
