Although only an educated guess for now, James H. Prentiss, we see 2 possibilities:
- James, b. c. 1830 and married in Delaware Co., NY, might be a brother to George W. Prentiss, son of Thomas Brigham Prentiss, in our "No Immigrant Ancestor" database who was b. 26 Dec 1839 in Chelsea, Canada, and who m. a Miss Yaple, also from Delaware Co., NY,
- or, he might be a son of Seaver N. Prentiss (brother to the above George Prentiss) lived in New York City and who had had a son named James Henry Prentiss, married (wife unknown) with a family (also unknown). It is noteworthy that #1 James, above, gave one of his sons the unusual middle name of "Seaver."
