1. Henrietta Prentice was b. c. 1824 in PA (per Ancestry.com, above), 1829, PA (per the 1880 census) or was b. c. 1834, PA (per the 1870 census. She d. 4 Apr 1892 in Franklindale, Bradford Co., PA. Both census records show that both of her parents were also born in PA.
She m. Gilbert W. Sickler on 24 Jul 1847, Tuscarora, Bradford Co., PA. He was b. 16 Apr 1824 in Milltown, Bradford Co., PA, and d. 14 Mar 1910 in Bradford Co., PA. Bur. in Lower Franklin Cemetery. An Ancestor Chart for him can be found at Ancestry.com . Children:
- Joseph T Sickler 1848 1900
- Charles T. Sickler 1849 1923
- Anjenet Sickler 1851 1851
Only heads of households were listed in the 1830 and 1840 census, and for that reason she seems not appear in the 1830 or 1840 census.
Henrietta does not appear with the "Prentice"or "Sickler" surnames in the 1850 or 1860 PA census. One could speculate that her maiden surname was not "Prentice," that she had married a "Prentice" after the 1860 census, and that he died during the 1860s, perhaps in the Civil War. Henrietta then married Gilbert Sickler before the 1870 census.
That, of course, is merely speculation. Since Ancestry.com shows that she died 4 Apr 1892 in Franklindale, Bradford Co., PA, what one really needs is a copy of her Death Certificate. It should give her date and place of birth as well as the names of her parents.
