1. James Henry Prentiss. Born, 12 Nov 1836, in Jefferson Co., OH. Died, 4 Dec 1891, in Unk., Ashtabula, OH. He m. Mary Cowan Robertson on 13 Jan 1875, in Ashtabula, OH. She was b. c. 1839 in PA and apparently previously married to a Mr. Copeland. James and Mary appear in the 1880 census in Saginaw, Saginaw Co., MI, where he is a lumber inspector, with their children:

  1. John C. Copeland, stepson, b. c. 1865, MI.
  2. John R. Copeland, stepson, b. c. 1871, MI.
  3. Edward V. Prentiss, b. c. 1872, MI.
  4. Daniel Kiser Prentis, b. c. 1876, OH. . . . . . . . [2]
  5. John H. Prentiss, b. c. 1878, MI

2. Daniel Kiser Prentice, b. 17 Jan 1876 or c. 1874 in either MI or Jefferson Co., OH. He m. Abbie Sarah Childs on 26 May 1903, in Coal Harbor, ND. She was b. 25 Dec 1882 in Creston Co., IA, dau. of William H. Childs (1845-1924) and Lettie Foster of who moved to a farm near Coleharbor, ND in 1901 from IA. Children of Daniel and Abbie:

  1. Grace Prentice. Born, circa 1905, in ND.
  2. Robert Prentice. Born, circa 1907, in ND.
  3. Charles Prentice. Born, circa 1908, in ND.
  4. Mary Prentice. Born, circa 1909, in ND.
  5. Donald Prentice. Born, 22 Nov 1912, in ND[3]. Died, Jun 1976, in Bend, Deschutes, OR[3].
  6. Russell Prentice. Born, 14 Jan 1915, in ND[3]. Died, May 1987, in Houston, Harris, TX[3].
