Update of 23 May 2008: David Prentice may be the David Prentice shown as No. 3viii in our Summer 2008 article about George Prentice of Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland .
1. David Prentice was b. c. 1890, Wishaw, Scotland. He appears in Ellis Island records as departing from his residence at 284 Caledonian Rd., Wishaw, Scotland on the "Tuscania" from Glasgow, Scotland and arriving in the Port of New York on 6 Apr 1923. He was a Bricklayer. His stated destination was New Hamburg in NY. He was described as 5' 7", of fresh complexion, fair hair and blue eyes.
David m. Agnes who remained in Wishaw at that time but who is later shown in the 1930 census, below.
David Prentice later appears in the 1930 Kearney, Hudson Co., NJ census as a Bricklayer with his wife, Agnes, b. c. 1892, Scotland and daughter:
- (illeg.) Prentice, b. c. 1909, Scotland. She is shown as a Telephone Operator living at home with her husband, Charles Black, b. c. 1905, Scotland, who was then a Life Insurance Clerical Worker.
