However, on the Prentice web page, Annie Engelmohr's birth has been entered as 1859 in Hackney, Middlesex - should be Brisbane, Australia. My ggrandmother Annie Prentice was born in 1858 in Dalston, Middlesex and she is in the 1871 living at 8 Ellis Tce, Hackney - perhaps because they are both called Annie it created a mix up.

Footnote 1: By email of 19 Jan 2002, Kerry Prentice advises that "William above who married Jane Kerridge [may be wrong]. On the marriage cert for these two, William’s father is given also as a William Prentice (carman) NOT as Thomas Prentice, as the information above should suggest. However if William who married Jane is correct , then we have the information regarding Thomas as father being incorrect.

I Believe that William and Jane are the correct line (although this is only through the process of elimination!) and that either Thomas is wrong or the name Thomas was used as an alias (though that would be all too easy). Additionally, Kerry Prentice's email of 23 Feb 2003 relates that William, who m. Jane Kerridge, is called "a carman" at the time of his marriage. A brother and his father appear all to be brushmakers, additional investigation is needed.
