Update of 30 Jan 2011: Eleanor Prentice is probably a dau. of John Prentice and Mary McLellan and is #15vi in our Robert Prentice eBook. That eBook now replaces this article.

We are helping Maureen Moore Ellis in tracing her family tree. Here is what we have so far:

1. Eleanor Prentice was b. c. 1765-1770 and perhaps in CT or MA. Eleanor, and probably the rest of her family later moved to VT.

She m. John O'Brien. John was b. c. 1765 in Ireland and emigrated initially to Nova Scotia and later to the US by 1790. They had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Sarah O'Brien, b 1796 in NY. . . . . . [2]

2. Sarah O'Brien, b 1796 in NY. She appears with her husband in the 1850 census in Liberty, Union Co., OH and in the 1860 census in Bethel, McDonough Co., IL.

She m. in Portage Co., OH, Charles Miller on 26 Jan 1816. Charles was b. 4 Mar 1793 in Simsbury, CT and was the son of Moses Miller and Ruth Case. Charles d. 20 Feb 1870 and Sarah after 1870, both in McDonough Co., IL. Children:

  1. Eleanor/Ellen Miller, b. c. 1826, OH. At home in the 1850 and 1860 census.
  2. Charles Miller J., b. c. 1827, OH. At home in the 1850 census.
  3. William Miller, b. c. 1830. OH. At home in the 1850 census.
  4. Marvin Miller, b. c. 1834, OH. At home in the 1850 and 1860 census.
  5. Affanir(?) Miller, dau., b. c. 1835, OH.
  6. Henry Miller, b. c. 1837, OH.
