1. Andrew J. Prentice was b. c. 1840. The 1900 Hamilton Co., TN census identifies his birth place as NY (but see his son, Grover, below).
He m. Phoebe/Phoeby A. Skyles (per IGI) who was b. c. 1847 in TN (per census). Also shown in that 1900 census record are their children:
- Eliza D. Prentice, b. 1 Mar 1876, Henderson, KY (per IGI)
- Mary A. Prentice, b. c. 1881, GA.
- Grover C/A Prentice, b. 10 Feb 1884, Hamilton, TN. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
2. Grover C/A. Prentice, b. 10 Feb 1884, Hamilton, TN. He is likely the Grover Prentice shown in the SSDI as b. 10 Feb 1884, who obtained his SS# in FL, and who d. in FL in Aug 1971.
It is somewhat less certain whether he is the Grover C. Prentice who appears in the 1930 census in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN census with his wife, Mary Myrtle Carroll, b. 9 Apr 1880, Fayetteville, Lincoln Co., TN, since that census record identifies his father's birth place as MI rather than NY. Children per IGI:
- James Prentice, b. c. 1910, TN. At home in 1930. 1996 in St. Simons Island, GA.
- Anna Lee Prentice, b. 22 Oct 1913, Chattanoga, Hamilton Co., TN. At home in 1930. She m. Mr. Johnson and in 1996 lived in Baton Rougem KA.
- Grover Cleveland Prentice Jr., b. 3 Jun 1917, Chattanoga, Hamilton Co., TN, and d. 29 Feb 1920.
- Edna Louise Prentice, b. 21 Dec 1920, Chattanoga, Hamilton Co., TN. At home in 1930. Not mentioned as living in 1996 in the obituary of her brother, William.
- Robert Eugene Prentice, b. 2 Nov 1923, Chattanoga, Hamilton Co., TN, and d. 21 May 1990, perhaps in FL where he obtained his Social Security number (per SSDI). At home in 1930.
- William Harrell Prentice, b. 25 Jan 1926, j, perhaps Chattanoga, Hamilton Co., TN. . . . . . . . . [3]
3. William Harrell Prentice, b. 25 Jan 1926, b. Kissimmee, FL, per his obituary, and d. 14 Oct 1996, Kissimmee, Osceola Co., FL. At home in 1930. His obituary reads as follows:

WILLIAM H. PRENTICE, 70, 3007 Sharp Road, Kissimmee, died Monday, Oct. 14. Mr. Prentice was a diesel engineer. Born in Kissimmee, he was a lifelong resident of Central Florida. He was Christian. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Coast Guard and Air Force veteran.
Survivors: wife, Dorothy; daughters, Catherine Lawson, Kissimmee, Carol Ann Mann, Plant City; brother, James, St. Simons Island, Ga.; sister, Anna Lee Johnson, Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Grissom Funeral Home, Kissimmee.
He m. Dorothy. Children:
- Catherine Prentice. She m. Mr. Lawson and in 1996 lived in Kissimmee, FL.
- Carol Ann Prentice. She m. Mr. Mann and in 1996 lived in Plant City, FL.
