He m. Virginia Ann Stockman who was b. c. 1931, perhaps Panama City, FL, and d. 19 Aug 2013 in Sacramento, CA. Her obituary reads as follows:

Virginia Ann Stockman Prentice, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend, took her last breath on Monday August 19 with her husband, Warren at her side at home in Sacramento. She was 82.

At FSU she met Warren Prentice and they married in June of 1951.

Raised in from Panama City, Florida, Virginia graduated as valedictorian from Bay High in 1949, and from Florida State University where she was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority in 1951. Virginia taught high school home economics in Florida for 7 years before moving to Texas briefly, and then to California in 1960. From that point on, she supported her husband as he became a professor at California State University Sacramento, and stayed home to raise their two children. They enjoyed socializing with other faculty couples, and as a family they were active members of Fremont Presbyterian Church. Virginia's quirky sense of humor, deep Southern roots, and her love of a beautifully set table will not soon be forgotten.

Virginia is survived by her California people: husband Warren, daughter Leslie Gandy and husband Tim, son Scott Prentice and wife Rachel, and grandsons, James Prentice and wife Alana, Austin Gandy and Tucker Gandy. She is survived by her Florida people too: mother Eunice Mae Stockman, sister Vera Grace Sanders and husband Ralph, nephew Robert Pitts and wife Viktoriya, nephew Gary Pitts and son Jeremy, and niece Gayle Rogers and husband Allen, and their sons Allen and Lloyd. `

Children of Warren and Virginia:

1. Leslie Prentice. She m. Tim Gandy. Sons:
   1. Austin Gandy.
   2. Tucker Gandy.
2. Scott Prentice. He m. Rachel. Daughter:
   1. James Prentice. He m. Alana.
