William Albert Charles S. Prentice of Tasmania

William Albert Charles S. Prentice of Tasmania
By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Spring 2005 and Revised 2005

We are helping Lynn Georgeadis of Queensland, Australia, in tracing some Prentice kin. Here is what we have so far:

1. William Albert Charles S. Prentice (nee Cederholm), b. c. 1880-1890, Tasmania. He m. Emily Mary Edward. They had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Albert Prentice, b. 24 Apr 1909, Waterloo, Sydney, Australia.

2. Albert Prentice, b. 24 Apr 1909, Waterloo, Sydney, Australia. He m. Elvie May Sawyer on 31 Aug 1929, Sydney, Australia. She is Lynn Georgeadis' paternal aunt.

Who are William's Parents?

in Our article about the Prentices of Bilton Ainsty we show Edward Prentis, son of Lewis Prentis and Margaret Stabler, as marrying Ann Cederholm in Hobart on 2 Jan 1842. Lynn Georgeadis suggests a possibility that there may be some connection to William, #1 above.

Another possibility: In our Spring 2000 issue we have an article about William Prentice of Hobart, Tasmania . We note that this William was born in Tasmania, and although the first name is not William, he just might be the same person as Albert Charles Prentice, b. 1887 and died WW1; Albert's father's name is William.
