Update of 10 Jun 2004: Vernon is the son of Bertram V. Prentice who is discussed in our Fall 2002 PRENTICE NEWSLETTER.

1. Vernon Prentiss was b. 31 May 1888, Dane Co., WI (per Ancestry.com., Wisconsin Vital Records, 1820-1907. Provo, UT: Ancestry.com, 2000. Original Data: Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. Wisconsin Vital Record Index, pre-1907. Madison, WI: Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services Vital Records Division, 19xx.)

Vernon appears in the 1920 San Francisco, CA census, and in the 1930 Oakland, Alameda Co., CA, census with his wife, Imelda Moran. She was b. 16 Dec 1899 in CA and d. 11 May 1972 in Orange Co., CA. Son:

  1. Vernon Prentiss Jr., b. c. 25 Sep 1917 in CA and d. 17 Jan 1983 in Orange Co., CA (per Cal. Death Records). At home in 1930 census and apparently the only child since no other shown.

Also living with them was Robert Bernard Torrance, b. c. 1916, CA and called a nephew. Robert was b. 31 Jan 1916 and d. 19 Feb 1984, age 68, in San Mateo, CA (per Cal. Death Records).
