1. Frederick Prentice was b. c. 1864, St. Pancras, London, England. He appears in the 1881 Kentish Town, St. Pancras, London census, as a Boarder, with a William Prentice, b. c. 1847, St. Pancras. Relationships are now shown; Will seems too young to be his father, so William may be an older brother or cousin.
Frederick later appears in the 1891 Hampstead, St. John, census as a "Pianoforte Polisher" living at 21 Howes Lane with his wife, Elizabeth, b. c. 1863. Children (per 1891 census):
- Harry Prentice, b. c. 1884, Kentish Town, London.
- Ethel Prentice, b. c. 1886, Kentish Town, London.
He is probably the same Frederick Prentice who appears in the 1901 Islington census as as a "French Polisher" b. c. 1861, Marylebone, London. No wife is shown, but the following children are listed:
- Henry (not Harry) Prentice, b. 1883, Kentish Town, London.
- Ethel Prentice, b. c. 1885, Kentish Town, London.
- Albert Prentice, b. c. 1894, Kentish Town, London.
