Solomon Prentice, b. c. 1782 in MA, is shown in the 1850 census for Nelson, Portage Co. Ohio with his wife, Maria, b. c. 1795, CT. Children:

  1. Almira Prentiss, b. c. 1803; m. Levi Goldsborough on 3 Oct 1828. He was b. c. 1806 and d. 17 Feb 1886, Otto, Cattaraugus Co., NY. He appears in the 1850 and 1870 Otto census, but his wife is identified as Maria, b. c. 1822 so Almira may have d. before 1850 with Maria being a 2nd wife.
  2. Zilpah Prentiss, b. c. 1805; d. 17 Dec 1853, Woodstock, IL; m. Hosea B. Throop. They do not appear in the 1850 census.
  3. Solomon M. Prentice, b. c. 1811; d. c. 1881. He m. Dorcas H. Tenny and had:
    1. Florilla Prentice, b. 1834; m. H. S. Wilcox.
    2. Marion Prentice, b. c. 1837; m. Mr. Seelmozi.
    3. Ellen Prentice, b. c. 1845, m. 1st Frank Newton & 2nd Richard VanSchoonhoven in Feb 1881.
    4. Napoleon Bonepart Prentice, b. 10 Jan 1847; m. Harriet Ellen Vallance 1 Dec 1868 and had
      1. Elmer Prentice, b. 1870
      2. Anna Marie Prentice, b. 1872
    5. (probably) Arthur Prentice.

    Solomon m., 2nd, widow Rebecca (Vallance) Newton. Children:

    1. Ella Rube/Beebe Prentice.

    Solomon m., 3rd, Permelia and had:

    1. George Prentice, b. c. 1869; d. 28 Jan 1878.
  4. Ebenezer T. Prentice, b. c. 1811 and also living in Nelson in 1850.
