1. Reginald W. Prentice was b. 28 Jul 1923 in MA and d. 24 Dec 1990 (per SSDI). He m. Cora H. Richards who was b. c. 1925 and d. c. 25 Mar 1999. Her obituary in the Springfield Union-News contains the following information:

    Cora H. (Richards) Prentice, 74, 252 Crystal Lake Road, Tolland, CT, a former Springfield, Mass., resident and a long-time resident of this area, died Tuesday at Rockville General Hospital, Rockville. She was a retired restaurant manager for Howard Johnson's of Vernon. She was born in Palmer, MA and was a member of the Tolland Congregational Church.

    She left a son, Arthur D. Supernor of Tolland, and a brother, Clarence Richards of Harpswell, Maine. She also left 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

    Undertaker: Byron's Allen Street Funeral Home, in Springfield. Burial at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, in Springfield.

It may be that the son identified, Arthur D. Supernor, was a son of a prior marriage. She may also have had other children who predeceased her.

Who are Jessie Prentice's Parents?

Although just a guess at this point, Jessie Prentice (Reginald's father) might be a son of Thomas M. Prentice, b. c. 1855, CT, who appears in that same 1930 New Haven, CT census, widower Also shown in Thomas' household is his son, Ellsworth Prentice, b. c. 1887, NY, and Ellsworth's wife, Louise C., b. c. 1888, CT. Thomas is the son of Daniel M. Prentice of Norwich, CT, about whom we have an article in our Winter 2002 Prentice Newsletter.
