He m. Anna Wilcox Warren. They had 1 or more children, including:

  1. George Prentiss, b. 11 Oct 1837, Warrensville, OH. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]

George Prentiss was b. 11 Oct 1837, Warrensville, OH (or 1841 per DAR record, or 1838 in MI per 1880 census) and d. 27 Apr 1926, Hinsdale, IL, He appears in the 1870 Detroit, Wayne Co., MI,census as a "Hardware Merchant. Wh" and in the 1880 census in the "Lumber Trade" with his wife and family. (Ref: James Gutting, email, 4 Aug 2013)

He is the George Prentiss mentioned in an article about "The Prentiss Lumber Company" of Alpens, Alpena Co., MI. It reads, in part, as follows:

    The founder of the business of this company is Mr. George Prentiss, a prominent business man of Detroit. The mill is located on the bay shore and was built by Mr. Prentiss in the Spring and Summer of 1879. In March, 1882, the Prentiss Lumber Company was organized with George. Prentiss, president and treasurer; James Reid, vice-president and foreman; Henry D. Billings, Secretary. The mill is a double circular and gang, and cut during 1882 19,000,000 feet of lumber, giving employment to an average of 150 men. Important additions and improvements were made to the mill during the Winter of 1883...

Who are Rev. Samuel Morris Prentiss' parents?

We only know who he is not. He is not George House Prentice, son of Ebenezer Prentice who is #7.2ii in our Thomas Prentice of Newton, MA eBook; both Georges appear with their respective families in the 1870 Detroit census.
