In reviewing the 1900 census we found the following Prentice for whom we have yet to identify his family, ancestors or descendants:
1. Edward Prentice was b. Nov 1835 in MA. He appears in the 1860 Williamstown, Hamilton Co., IA census as a 24 year old with his wife, Margaret Prentice, b. May 1835 in IN. Her birth place suggests they were m. in IN or perhaps IA.
We checked our extracts from the 1880 IA census, but did not find any Edward Prentice, nor does he appear in the 1900 IA census.
We did not find any other Prentice family living in Hamilton County, IA in the 1860 census.
We do note that the 1850 census in Chester, Hampden Co., MA, shows an Edward Prentice, b. c. 1836, MA, son of Ephraim Prentice, b. c. 2806, MA, and his wife, Susan, b. c. 1807, MA. They are #139 in our John-3 eBook. However, that Edward appears in the 1860 and 1870 census in Meriden, Lasalle Co., IL, which is inconsistent with this Edward appering in the 1860 IA census.
