We are helping Rob Eason in tracing his Prentice family tree. Here is what we have so far.

1. David(?) Prentice was likely b. c. 1850-60 and perhaps in Lanark, Scotland.

He m. (Unknown). His children included:

1. Alexander Ross Prentice, b. c. 1884. . . . . . .
2. David Prentice. Emigrated to Florida, Unied States.
3. George Prentice. Emigrated to Australia with his brother, Alexander.

2. Alexander Ross Prentice was b. c. 1884, probably in Lanark, Scotland.

He m. Mary Clark They left Lanark, Scotland to start a new life in Melbourne, Australia with his brother, George, and about the same as his brother, David, emigrated to Florida in the United States.

We checked the 1861 Scotland census and found the following Davids in the period 1850-1860:

1. David Prentice, b. c. 1858. Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, son of George and Catherine.
2. David Prentice, b. c. 1851, Dalziel, Lanarkshire, son of John and Agnes.
3. David Prentice, b. c. 1857, Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, son of William and Agnes.
4. David Prentice, b. c. 1851, Bathgate, Linlithgowshire, son of Elizabeth.
5. David Prentice, b. c. 1859, Whitburn, Linlithgowshire, son of David and Christina.
