Mary Eliza (Prentice) Heisey

After a lingering illness Mrs. Mary Heisey passed away Saturday at her residence on Vine Street at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 24 days. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Alice Norman conducted by Rev. W.C. May of Old Fort, assisted by Rev. Sidney Mayer. Interment was made in Castalia Cemetery.
Deceased was born in Erie county Aug 20, 1849 a daughter of Manasseh and Wealthy Prentice. On Dec 20, 1868 she was united in marriage with Byron Heisey, but married life was of a brief span. The husband passed away in 1871. For many years she had been a resident of Sandusky county and had lived in Clyde for the past 15 years.
She was a member of the United Brethren faith and was possessed of the character of an excellent woman whose many friends were numbered especially among the older residents.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Alice Norman of Clyde, Mrs Nellie Wright of Vickery, Mrs. Nettie Hamilton of Sandusky and Mrs. Olive Dehnoff of Westerville and a brother, H. N. Prentice of Clyde.
