Kenneth Weller Prentice

Kenneth Weller Prentice, 82, passed away peacefully after a long illness on January 10, 2018, at Lake Havasu Regional Hospital in Lake Havasu, CA. Ken was born in Buellton, CA to Ken and Anna Marie Prentice on July 18, 1935.

Ken is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gayle (Clarke) Prentice, daughter Holly Lynn Saunders of Tulsa, OK, son, Gary R. Prentice of Big Bear Lake, CA, granddaughter Serena S. Saunders of Aurora, CO, granddaughter Brooke Anne Dekker-Prentice of San Diego, CA, grandson, Casey Copeland Prentice of Big Bear Lake, CA, and great granddaughter, Shaylene Van Schoyck of Aurora, CO. Extended family members, Joe Van Schoyck of Aurora, CO, and Tena Marie Dekker of Big Bear Lake, CA.

The family would like to thank Chuck and Teresa Hulett for their love & care.

Ken was a proud member of Iron Workers Local 433 out of Los Angeles, CA, for 32 years. Upon retirement he joined Gayle as co-owner of Gayle's Resort Rentals. After 22 years they retired to their beloved Escalante, UT. His final years were spent snowbirding in Quartzsite, AZ, and enjoying summers in Big Bear Lake, CA.

Our "Papa" was an avid classic car collector. He was known for his detailed muscle car restorations. Traveling, ATV riding and hunting in Mexico were among his passions. Ken was a proud veteran, serving two years in Germany.
