• I've started working on my grandmother's genealogy. I know very little about her and her family. Her name was Gertrude Mae Prentice and was born in New York somewhere around October 17, 1895. She married my grandfather Harry Edward Cable on October 16 1919 in the District of Columbia. I have several photo's but can only pick out my grandmother. I am assuming the others are other family members. One of the photos has a Mr. & Mrs. William Prentice. but I don't know if they are parents or maybe an aunt and uncle. In the 1900 and 1910 census there is a Gertrude M Prentice with a mother named Anna or Annie with a possible sister named Alice Prentice (Johnson) . I really don't know if this is her or not.
My dad's first cousin was Marguerite Prentice who married a Dan Daddysman and lived in San Jose, California.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Prentiss, Brigadier General at the time, was finally captured, together with most of his command, on the second day of the battle. Benjamin Mayberyy Prentiss was born at Bellville, in what is now the state of West Virginia, on November 23, 1819 and died at Bethany, MO. , on Febuary *, 1901.
