1. Thomas Prentice was probably born c. 1810-1825 and perhaps in, or near, Dalserf, Lanarkshire, Scotland. His wife's name is not known, but they had at least one daughter:
- Euphemia Prentice, probably b. c. 1840-48 and perhaps at Dalserf. According to GRO marriage records, she married S. Hamilton on 31 Dec 1868 at Woodside, Dalserf.
