1. Unknown Prentiss, perhaps b. c. 1883 to 1888, and perhaps in NY. We have not been able to identify him because the 1930 census shows his wife as a widow, and the 1940 census shows her as divorced.
He m. Emilie A. Prentiss who was b. 4 Nov 1888 in New York and d. Aug 1976 in Zion, Lake Co., Illinois, per the 1930 and 1940 census and the SSDI, In 1930 and 1940 she was living in Chicago, Cook Co., IL. The 1930 census says her father was b. in Germany and that her mother was Helen A. Otte, b. c. 1866 in NY. Both of Helen's parents were b. in Germany. Emilie had 2 daughters:
- Helen E. Prentiss, b. c.1924, IL. 1930 and 1940 census at home in Chicago.
- Irma M. Prentiss, b. c. 1927 in IL. 1930 and 1940 census at home in Chicago.
Investigation is continuing.
