1. Samuel Prentiss was b. c. 1881 or 1884 in Maine. He does not appear in the 1900, 1910 or 1920 census. He first appears in the 1930 and 1940 census in Holden, Penobscot Co., Maine.
He m. Edith L., b. c. 1891-2, CA. Eeith L. appears in the 1920 census in Bucksport, hancock Co., ME, as Edith L. Harmon, divorced, with her son, Earl L. Harmon, Earl L., b. c. 1912-13, Maine. Earl later adopted Samuel's Prentiss surname as his own in the 1940 census.
