Who are Perlie L. Prentice's Parents?

The 1920 census in Angelica, Allegany Co., NY, shows, living with the family, Nellie A. Elliott, a widow, as a mother-in-law, presumably Perlie's mother, and b. c. 1855, NY.

That strongly suggests that Perlie was born Perlie Elliott and that is confirmed by the 1900 census in Wellsville, Allegany Co., NY, (lying about 10 miles south of Belmont) where she appears in the home of John Elliott (b. c. 1852, PA) and Nellie Elliott (b. c. 1854, NY).

It also suggests that Perlie Elliott had a prior marriage to a Mr. Prentice prior to her marriage to Linus E. Graham. If so, that Prentice may be Edward Prentice who is #1(ii) in our Winter 2004 article entitled Thomas Prentis of Wellsville, Allegany Co., NY . He was b. c. 1878, NY, and died sometime between 1880 and 1900.

Investigation is continuing.
