3. Margaret Prentice, b. 12 Aug 1720, in Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland, and bap. 14 Aug 1720.

We have some confusion as to his marriage and children.

One source says that he m. Agnes Forrest in 1745, Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire. She was b. 1724 in Cambusnethan and was the dau. of James Frrest and Janet Hamilton. Children per Ancestry.com :

1. John Prentice, b. 1748 in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, and d. 11 Mar 1828 in Lanarkshire, age 80. She m. Elizabeth Stuart on 26 Apr 1777, in Lesmahagow. She was b. 5 Dec 1753, in Glasgow, Lanarkshire,, and d. 1820, age 57. Scotland.
2. James Prentice, b. 1750 in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, and d. 11 Mar 1828, Lanarkshire, age 78. He m. Janet Lockhart on 24 Jul 1774, in Lanark, Lanarkshire, age 78. He m. Marion Brown on 18 Jun 1784, in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire.

   5. Jean Prentice, b. May 18, 1787, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, abd d, November 3, 1872, in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, age 85 years. She married James Nimmo on September 17, 1809, in Carnwath.
   6. Adam Prentice, b. March 12, 1789, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, He m. 1st Jean Sword in 1813. He m. 2nd Agnes Dick on November 23, 1852, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He died on May 4, 1862, in Lanarkshire, Scotland, at the age of 73.
   7. Mary Prentice, was born on June 16, 1791, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, bap. baptized in 1791.
   8. David Prentice, b. March 10, 1793, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, and d . December 13, 1856, in Patna, Ayrshire, Scotland, at the age of 63.
   9. James Prentice, b. July 22, 1795, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire,. He married Janet Nimmo on September 27, 1844, in his hometown. He died on October 26, 1867, at the age of 72, and was buried in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
   10. William Prentice, b. May 11, 1797, in Carnwath, Lanarkshire, and d. October 9, 1849, at the age of 52.
4. Elizabeth Prentice, b. 1757 in Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
