Update of 3 Apr 2012: Henry Arthur Prentice is #4 in our Winter 2006 article entitled Henry Prentice of St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England . That article now replaces this article.
We found the following family on Ancestry.com , with William's parents identified by Judith Dickson's email of 3 Apr 2012:
1. Henry Arthur Prentice may have been b. c. 1880-1890, perhaps in Australia.
He m. Josephine Alvena Harry. They had 1 or more children, including:
- William Robert Prentice, b. 23 Mar 1911, Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia. . . . [2]
2. William Robert Prentice was b. 23 Mar 1911, Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia, and d. 9 Aug 1995, Brisbane, Queensland. His ashes were scattered.
He served in the Australian Army, enlisting 15 May 1941 at Annerley, Queensland, identifying Jean Prentice, as his next of kin. He was discharged 6 Nov 1945 as a Corporal at 112 Australian General Transport.
He m MIss Fisher (probably Jean Fisher) on 22 Feb 1941, Brisbane, Queensland. She was b. 23 Mar 1911, Charter Towers, Old, Australia, and d.9 Aug 1995, Brisbane. Ashes scattered. An Ancestor Chart for her can be found at Ancestry.com . Children: (son) Prentice. He m. Miss Clarey. They had a son and daughter.
