Robert Prentice of Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT
By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Summer 2010 and Revised 20 Oct 2011

1. Robert Prentice was b. at an unknown location in VT, as were his parents. We do not have a birth date for him, but was likely 1880-1884 based on the 1884 birth date of his wife. Robert married and had a son, Howard, below, but was deceased by the time of the 1910 census in Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT. He does not appear in the 1900 and 1910 census where his wife is called a widow.

Robert apparently died between 1905 (when his son Howard was conceived) and probably 1909 (since he does not appear in Vermont Death Records for the period 1909-2007) and certainly before the census was taken in 1910 where his wife is called a widow.

He m. Bertha Anderson, b. c. 1884, VT, as were her parents. She appears in the 1910 census indexed as "Beecker Trentiss" in Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT, as a widow. Children:

Bertha m. 2nd John G. Black, b. c. 1880, VT. Bertha and John Black appear in the 1920 census in Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT.

2. Howard A. Prentice, b. 27 Apr 1906, VT, and d. 20 Jun 1978, age 72, as an "inpatient" at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont suffering from "Pneumonitis?" in Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT. His Vermont Death Record indicated he had been living at 2701 Gulf Shore Blve in Naples, FL. He was cremated and his ashes repose at Nt, Okeasabt Cem.k in St. Johnsbury, VT.

1910 at home in Burlington, VT. 1920 living with his mother and stepfather in Burlington, VT. 1940 in Burlington with his wife and daughter.
