Introduction: The following material is based on the obituary of Cheryl Valouch Prentice published in "The Norman Transcript" on 4 Feb 2004 and census records tracing her husband's roots:
1. Louis Prentice was b. Jan 1837, NY, with his father b in MA and mother in NY. He appears in the 1900 census in Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY, with his wife and family.
He m. Emmeline(?) in 1870 (per 1900 census) She was b. Sep 1847, NY, with both parents b. in NJ. Children per 1900 census:

2. Morgan Prentice, b. Feb 1872, NY. At home in 1900. He appears in the 1920 census in Hope, Warren Co., NJ, as b. c. 1874, NY, with his wife and children.
He m. Edith R. H., b. c. 1876, NJ. Children:

- Hessie(?) M Prentiss, b. c. 1905, NJ. At home in 1920.
3. Ralph Prentice, b. 23 Jan 1901, obtained his SS# in NJ, and d. Mar 1987, Norman, Cleveland Co., OK (per SSDI). The 1920 census in Hope, Warren Co., NJ, shows him as b. c 1902, NJ. The 1930 census in Newark, Essex Co., NJ, incorrectly shows him as b. c 1895, NJ
He m. Mary E. (Edsall?), b. c. 1899, NJ. in the 1930 Newark census they were at that time living in the home of Mary's father, Benjamin F. Edsall, b. c. 1857, PA, together with Mary's sister, Jessie Y. Edsall, b. c. 1888, NJ. Son shown in 1930 census:
- Robert E. Prentice, b. 15 Apr 1925, NJ. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [4]
4. Robert E. Prentice, b. 15 Apr 1925, obtained his SS# in NJ, and d. 28 Dec 2005 in Norman, Cleveland Co., OK.
He m. Bee. In 2006 she was a widow living in Norman, OK. Children:
- Cheryl Valouch Prentice, b. 28 Feb 1945, Oklahoma City, OK. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [5]
- Denise Prentice. She m. Jim Stubblefield and in 2006 lived in Norman, OK.
- Don Prentice. He m. Randy and in 2006 lived in Oklahoma City, OK.
- Charles V. Prentice. He d. before 2006. Because of the given birth date which conflicts with that which we have for his sister, Cheryl, it is unclear whether he is the Charles Valouch Prentice, b. 6 Jan 1945 and d. 21 Feb 1999 and bur. in the Maguire Fairview Cemetery, Slaughterville, Cleveland Co., OK.
5. Cheryl Valouch Prentice was b. 28 Dec 1945, Oklahoma City, OK, and d. on 1 Feb 2006 kat her home in Midwest City, OK. Her obituary reads as follows:
- Cheryl Valouch Prentice of Midwest City died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 1, at her home.
Ms. Prentice was born Dec. 28, 1945, in Oklahoma City, to Robert E. and Bee Prentice. She graduated from Carl Albert High School and later attended Rose State College and the University of Oklahoma. While at school she married for a short time. Her only child, Eric Prentice, and grandson, Cole, were the pride and joy and the light of her life. Ms. Prentice was employed in civil service at Tinker Air Force Base for 30 years. Ms. Prentice is remembered for her willingness to do what she felt was right, rather than what was easy.
Ms. Prentice was preceded in death by her grandparents, father and brother Charles V. Prentice. Ms. Prentice is survived by her son Eric and his wife Tara and her grandson Cole of Guthrie; mother Bee Prentice of Norman; sister Denise and husband Jim Stubblefield of Norman; brother Don Prentice and wife Randy of Oklahoma City; and other beloved nieces and nephews.
Son of Cheryl Valouch Prentice:
- Eric Prentice. He m. Tara. They had 1 or more children, including:
- Cole Prentice. In 2006 he lived in Guthrie, OK.
