    ENID — Olin Lester Prentice was born July 22, 1923, in Aline, OK and d. 14 Feb 2012. He was raised on a farm in the area. He was the son of Lowell and Lucy (Whiteneck) Prentice. Olin became a Christian at an early age.

    On July 18, 1948, Olin married Juanita Logsdon. Two children were born. Juanita died Aug. 2, 1990. Then, on Jan. 1, 1992, Olin married Marjorie Merkey Pendleton. She died May 18, 2009. Olin went to be with our Lord Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012.

    Olin is survived by his children, Merle Prentice and wife Renee of Yukon, Marilyn Prentice Mathes of Midland, Texas, Carol Pendleton Taylor of Tampa, Fla., and the late Gary Pendleton. Olin’s grandchildren are Kevin Mathes, Robert Mathes, Blake Prentice, Chip Taylor, Andy Brooke Taylor and Jenny Taylor. Olin is also survived by sister, Arlene Prentice Kiner of Aline, and many nieces and nephews.

    The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Paul Syoen and Roxie Krewer for the love and care they provided to our Dad for many years. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J. Randall Hackworth and Rev. Charles Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials can be given in Olin’s name through the funeral home to Community Church of the Plains. He m. 2nd Marjorie Merkee Pendleton on 1 Jan 1992. She was b. 28 Oct 1926, Cloud Chief, OK, and d. 18 May 2009 at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. Her obituary reads as follows:

    Marjorie N. Pendleton-Prentice : Marjorie was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Cloud Chief, Okla., to Jacob and Blanche McKinney Merkey and died Monday, May 18, 2009, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

    She grew up on a farm near Cordell, Okla., and attended Lake Valley schools, where she played the trumpet in the school band. She became a licensed beautician at the age of 16 and married Ralph V. Pendleton on September 2, 1944. They were married for 33 years until his death on July 20, 1978. They lived in Neosho, Mo., while he was in the Army and returned to Cordell in 1946. They moved to Enid in 1952.

    Marjorie cared for children in her home and also worked in two area child care centers. She volunteered for many years at Enid Opportunity School and was a receptionist and office clerk. She was a nanny to young families, a caregiver to the elderly and those in need and spent many hours taking people back and forth to doctors' appointments. She was the manager of Garfield Battery and Electric after the death of her first husband. She was a tour guide, attended Writer's Club, played golf and went swimming at the Y three times a week for 25 years.

    She married Olin L. Prentice Jan. 1, 1992. Marj regularly attended Community Church of the Plains, served on boards/committees and sang in trios and quartets. She led worship from time to time, but she will best be remembered for her many years of teaching Sunday school to all ages.

    Marj was a lifelong learner and she loved reading, creative writing, singing and playing the organ. She enjoyed traveling, baking, growing flowers (especially roses) and collecting clocks and music boxes. She was a loving wife and grandmother, a cherished friend and a faithful child of God.

    Survivors are her husband, Olin, of the home; children, Carol Taylor of Anderson, Ind., Gary Pendleton of Enid, Okla., Marilyn Mathes of Midland, Texas, and Merle Prentice and wife Reneé of Yukon, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Amy Pendleton Scott and husband Dusty of Virginia Beach, Va., Chip Taylor and wife Lori of Tampa, Fla., Andi Brooke Taylor and Jenny Taylor of Anderson, Ind., Kevin Mathes of Houston, Texas, Robert Mathes of Arlington, Texas, and Blake Prentice of Yukon, Okla.; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Caleb Taylor of Tampa, Fla.; other surviving family members include: Joseph and Melba Jo Merkey, Jesse and Betty Merkey, Dean Ellis, Dale and Judy Pendleton, Ernest and Arlene Kiner and nieces, nephews and cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ralph; two sisters, Marietta Duncan and Edna Gattis; brother, Edwin Merkey; and son-in-law, Bill Taylor.

    The funeral service for Marjorie N. Pendleton-Prentice, 82, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J. Randal Hackworth will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation with the family today from 6-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Community Church of the Plains with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.     Edwin (Ed) Beryl Williams, age 70. pf Enid, died Sunday, October 2, 1994. Rose Croix services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Anderson-King Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Goodhope Cometery at Helena with Masonic Graveside Rites.

    Ed was born June 3, 1924 at Aline, Oklahoma to Thomas J. and Pearl Prentice Williams and graduated from Carmen High School in 1942. He was raised in the Carmen and Helena communities. Ed and Helen Pauline Roller wer married in Carmen on December 3, 1944 and she preceded him in death April 11, 1984. He owned and operated a service station in Guymon before entering the U.S. Army in 1943. He served with the 135th Evacuation Hospital in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany and was there on VE Day and was honorably discharged at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas in April, 1946. He attended Enid Business College, entered the funeral business in 1947 and graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in 1949. He worked for funeral homes in Tulsa, Cushing, Chickasha, Helena, and Enid retiring in 1993. He also farmed.

    Richard Burton Prentice, 83, was born in Aline, OK to Ida and Loren Prentice and went to be with his heavenly Father Tuesday, March 27, 2007. He owned a successful dental business in Northern California where golf was a favorite pastime, and he retired to his home state of Oklahoma.

    Richard is survived by his son, Burton; his daughter-in-law, Cindy; his grandson, Aidan; his sister, Carol; and his loving fiend, Peggy.

    A graveside service with military honors is to be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Ted Kuschel officiating.     LORRAINE -- Arlene Rolfs Prentice, 82, died April 2, 2009. She was born Aug. 10, 1926, in Lorraine to Walter and Lydia Schroeder Rolfs. She was preceded in death by her sister, LaVerne Trebilcock; and brother, Melvin Rolfs. Survivors include her son, Gart Prentice, of Saratoga, Calif.; daughter, Sue (Geoffrey) Russell, of Papua, New Guinea; two grandchildren; brothers, Merle Rolfs, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ronald Rolfs, of Albuquerque, N.M.; and sisters, Marilyn Nickel and Lois Slabach, both of Clearwater.

    Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, April 14, at First Baptist Church, Lorraine, followed by service at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators or the church, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
