MONTE VISTA — Cleo Grace Prentice, 81, of Monte Vista, died Thursday Jan. 3, 2008 at her home.

She was born on Mar. 21, 1926, in Burdett, Kan., to Otis and Elsie (Miller) Asay. Cleo loved playing Pinochle and fishing. She loved visiting with her ladies as she did their hair. Her parents, Otis and Elsie; along with two brothers precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband, James C. Prentice, of the family home; her daughters, Diana Brown, of Clovis, N.M. and Marlene (Henry) Brown, of Folsom, N.M.; one brother, Darrel (Mary Ellen) Asay, of Center; four grandchildren, Jim and Ivan Brown, Carolyn Vernier and Sherri Carr; and nine great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made under the direction of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home, in Monte Vista.
