By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor
Fall 2010 and Revised 16 Aug 2010

Update of 17 Aug 2010: Fred Tidmore Prentice is a descendant of Hampton Prentice who is #54 in our Summer 2006 article about the Prentices of Halton, etc. . That article now replaces this article.

1. Fred Tidmore Prentice was b. 10 Apr 1923, OK, and d. 13 May 1994, Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ per Ancestry.com and the SSDI.

He m. June Eleanor Cowart 19 Dec 1948. Divorced 19 Sep 1972, Wichita Co., TX. Known children:

  1. Fred David Prentice, b. 22 Sep 1949, Young Co., TX.
  2. Junellen Prentice, b. 2 Jul 1952, Young Co., TX, per John Casall, email, 15 Aug 2010.

Fred m. 2nd Barbara G. Sperbert on 13 Apr 1974, Baylor Co., TX. Div. 22 May 1990, El Paso Co., TX. An Ancestor Chart for her can be found at Ancestry.com . Son:

  1. (son) Prentice.

Who are Fred Tidmore Prentice's Parents?

Fred does not appear in the 1930 Lincoln, NE, census so his parents do not appear there. Since Fred was b. in 1923, we also checked the 1920 Lincoln census to see what Prentice might be living in Lincoln. There were none.

We do note that the SSDI shows that another Prentice d. in Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ. He was Fred Prentice, b. 16 Feb 1903, obtained his SS# in NE, and d. Sep 1970 in Phoenix. Given the age differential, name similarity and NE location, he might be the father of Fred T. Prentice.

The SSDI also shows Cinde T. (Tidmore?) Prentice, b. 2 Jul 1901, obtained her SS# in AZ, and d. 1 Feb 1997 in Phoenix. She might be Fred's wife, and Fred Tidmore Prentice's mother. There seems to be a good chance that she is Cinderella Rilla "Cynda" Tidmore, b. c. 1902, Haskell, OK, dau. of Christoper W. Tidmore and Martha W. An Ancestor Chart for her can be found at Ancestry.com .

Investigation is continuing.
