He might also be the James Prentice was b. 14 Aug 1771, Cambusnethan, Lanark, Scotland who m. Isobel Baillie on 7 Nov 1789 in Cambusnethan, Lanark, Scotland as set out in our #10 in our Winter 2004 article entitled John Prentice of Carluke, Scotland .

1. James Prentice was likely b. c. 1760-1768, perhaps in Lanarkshire, Scotland.

He m. Isabel Baillie on 7 Nov 1789 in Carluke. Children (per GRO records):

  1. Daniel Prentice, chr. 25 Feb 1790, Carluke. No marriage shown for him up to 1818 in GRO records.
  2. John Prentice, chr. 25 Feb 1790, Carluke. No marriage shown for him in Carluke up to 1818 in GRO records.
  3. William Prentice, chr. 10 Jun 1792, Carluke. He may be the William Prentice who m. Mary Currie on 7 Dec 1808 in Carluke

No further children are shown for them in GRO records, so she might have died before 1797 or they moved from the area.
