We have been searching for many years to find early documentation about Alice Bredda who m. Valentine Prentice in 1626 in Chelmsford, Essex Co., England.
Subsequent to the publication of our PRENTICE book in 1992, and later editions, there has begun appearing in the LDS IGI and Pedigree Resource File assertions that Alice was:
- b. 1600, Essex, Huntingdonshire
- chr. c. 1606, Thetford, Norfolk
- chr. 1608, Chelmsford
- b. 10 Sep 1609, Chelmsford
- chr. 10 Sep 1609 in Chelmsford
In an effort to try to confirm any of those dates and places, we have contacted as many of the persons posting such information as we could. So far, none of them have been able to point to an original source document (church record, etc.) for any of those assertions, and none of them purport to identify her parents.
