We found the following information at Ancestry.com:

1. Robert Francis Prentice was b. 23 Jul 1867, Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland, and d. 1946 in Racine, Racine Co., WI per Ancestry.com . He appears in the 1930 census in Racine, Racine Co., WI, with his wife and family.

He m. Elizabeth Preston, b. c. 1870, Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland, and d. in Racine, Racine Co., WI. He does not appear in the 1910 or 1920 census, perhaps indicating that he emigrated to the United States after those dates. He does not appear in Ellis Island records and may have emigrated through Canada. Children shown in the 1930 census:

  1. Christopher R. Prentice, b. 1 May 1900, Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland. . . . . . [2]
  2. John J. Prentice, b. 1 Mar 1910, Northern Ireland, obtained his SS# in WI, and d. 20 Feb 2001 in Racine, Racine Co., WI. At home in 1830 in Racine, WI.

  3. Gertrude Prentice, b. c. 1912, Northern Ireland. At home in 1830 in Racine, WI.

The ages of the children, 20 and 18, seem to suggest that there were additional children who had left home by 1930.

Living with the family in 1930 was Mary Ann Preston, b. c. 1868, Northern Ireland, and called a sister in law.

2. Christopher R. Prentice, b. 1 May 1900, Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland, and d. 8 Jun 1976, Racine, Racine Co.,WI. Arrived in NYC from Ireland on 17 Apr 1916.

He m. Elizabeth Pottinger on 6 Feb 1921, Racine. She was b. 12 Apr 1902, Racine, and d. there 14 Jul 1972 . An Ancestor Chart for her can be found at Ancestry.com . Daughter:

She m., as his 1st wife, Arthur Lester McCallum. He was b. 30 Sep 1921, Lowell, MA, and d. 1 Mar 2009, Racine, WI. Daughter per Ancestry.com :

  1. (dau.) McCallum. She is apparently the Kathryn McCallum mentioned in her father's obituary, below. Ancestry.com, above, says she m. a Mr. Cook and had a daughter who m. a Mr. Peterson and had 3 sons:

    Kathryn them m., 2nd William Wendt and in 2009 lived in , Racine, WI.

Apparently Leone and Arthur divorced, and Arthur m. 2nd Dorothea Johnson on 13 Oct 1973, Bethania utherean Church. Arthur's obituary reads as follows:

    Arthur L. "Art" McCallum

    RACINE - Arthur L. 'Art' McCallum, 87, passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 1, 2009. Art was born in Lowell, Mass. on September 30, 1921, son of Lester and Loretta (nee: Leahy) McCallum.

    On October 13, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dorothea Johnson at Bethania Lutheran Church.

    Art served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of War. He retired as Racine County Veteran's Service Officer in January of 1987 after many years of service. Art was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church, past Post Commander of the American Legion Post 310, past Post Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1391, past Wisconsin State Commander of County Veteran's Service Officers Association, Racine Moose Lodge #437, and Navy Club Ship #60.

    Art is survived by:

    • one daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn (William) Wendt of Racine;
    • two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald A. (Roberta) McCallum, Col. USAF (Ret.), of Jamaica, Va. and Bernard (Shirley) McCallum of Watertown;
    • granddaughters, Rebecca (Duane) Fisher, Jennifer (Michael) Dolan, Victoria (Peter) Peterson, Margaret Ann (Andy) Modjeski, Molly (Michael) Bogdan, and Annie and Nora McLaughlin; and grandson, Robert Cook;
    • six great-grandchildren; and two step-daughters and one step- son, Gay King of Racine, Kris (Michael) Skewes of Burlington, and Guy (Karen) Simpson of Stratford, Conn. Art is further survived by step-grand- children, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea; son, Robert Baikie McCallum; brother, Robert (Marilyn) McCallum; one great-grand- son, Arthur Robert Peterson; and his first wife, Leone Ann Prenticein April of 2001.

    A Memorial service honoring and celebrating Art's life will be held at Bethania Lutheran Church, 4120 Wright Avenue, on Friday, March 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steve Wohlfeil officiating. Inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park Crypts with full Military Honors. There will be a time to meet with family and friends at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bethania Lutheran Church or to one's favorite charity have been suggested. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the doctors, neighbors, and friends that have assisted Art over the years.
