1. Edmond Prentice was b. c. 1820, Harwich, Essex, England. He appears in the 1851 census in Harwich St. Nicholas, Essex, with his wife and family.
He m. Mary Ann, b. c. 1822, Thorp, Essex, England. She is probably thesame person as the Mary Prentice, a married woman, was b. c. 1825, Thorpe, Essex, who appears without her husband in the 1861 census in Ipswich St. Peter, Suffolk. Children:
- Marie Prentice, b. c. 1840, Thorp, Essex. At home in 1851. Not home in 1861.
- William S. Prentice, b. c. 1847, Hannah, Essex. At home in 1951 and 1861 census.
- Edmond/Edward Prentice, b. c. 1851, Hannah, Essex. Called Edmond in the 1851 census and Edward in the 1861 census. At home in 1851 and 1861.
- Marcus B. Prentice, b. Dec Q., 1854, Ipswich, Suffolk (per St. Cath. Index, births). At home in 1861 census.He died in the Sep Q, 1876, Ipswich (per St. Cath. Index, deaths)
- Robert H. Prentice, b. c. 1859, Ipswich, Suffolk. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
2. Robert H. Prentice was b. c. 1859, Ipswich, Suffolk, England. At home in 1861 census. He appears in the 1881 census living at 59 Albert Rd., Hedworth Monkton & Jarrow, Durham, England, as an "Engine Fitter At Works" with his wife and daughter, Ethel.
He m. Mary, b. c. 1860, Howdon, Northumberland. She appears in the 1891 census in the County of Cardiff, Civil Parish of Canton, , Municipal Borough of Cardiff, Municipal Ward of Cardiff. She is called a "wife" but no husband is shown. In the 1901 census in Canton, Glamorgan, Wales, Mary appears without her husband. Children per 1881, 1891 and 1901 census:
- Gladys Prentice, b. c. 1877, Cardiff, Glamorgan
- Ethel M. Prentice, b. c. 1880, Jarrow-on-Tyne, Durham, England.
