1. Richmond Prentiss was b. c. 1843 in MS. He appears in the 1850 census in Jasper Co., MS as a 7 year old boy living in the home of Jacob and Susan Reeves Jacob Reeves, a farmer, was b. c. 1822 in SC and Susan was b. c. 1823 in SC. Relationships were not shown in the 1850 census, but one would assume that Susan might have been their aunt. with his siblings:
- Jacob Prentiss, b. c. 1845, MS.
- Henry Prentiss, b. c. 1846, MS.
- Susan Prentiss, b. c. 1849, MS.
No other Prentice or Prentiss appears in the 1850 Jasper Co., MS census, nor do Richmond, Jacob or Henry appear in any later census record.
