1. Elijah Prentice was b. c. 1821 in Essex, perhaps Great Coggeshall, where he appears in the 1841 Great Coggeshall census (but not in later census records) with the following persons, probably his siblings:
- Henry Prentice, b. c. 1821, Essex. 1841 census in Great Coggeshall, Essex. . . . . . . . . . . [2]
- Rachael Prentice, b. c. 1821, Essex. 1841 census in Great Coggeshall, Essex. Not in IGI. She might be the same person as the Rachel Prentice who appears in the 1851 census in Great Coggeshall as b. c. 1823, Paglesham, Essex, and a Servant in the home of Mary Gardner. She might be a wife of Elijah, Henry, or Mack Prentice.
- Mack Prentice, b. c. 1824, Essex. 1841 census in Great Coggeshall, Essex. Not in 1851 and later census and not in IGI.
2. Henry Prentice, b. c. 1821, Essex. 1841 census in Great Coggeshall, Essex. He does not appear in the 1851 census with a Great Coggeshall, Essex, birth place. However, he might be the Henry Prentice shown in the 1881 census as then living on Back Lane, Great Coggeshall, Essex, as b. c. 1822 in Coggeshall, Essex, Shoe Maker, with his wife and daughter.
That Henry Prentice m. Jane, b. c. 1830, Coggeshall, Essex. Daughter:
- Emma Prentice, b. c. 1854, Coggeshall, Essex.
