1. Christian Prentice was b. c. 1801 at an unknown location is Essex, England. He first appears in the 1841 census with his wife and family.
He m. Lucy, b. c. 1801 in Essex. Their presently known children, based on their being at home in the 1841 census in Ingatestone, Essex , which lies about 8 miles SW of Chelmsford, are:
- Lucy Prentice, b. c. 1816, Essex.
- Chris/Christian Prentice, b. c. 1821, Essex.
- William Prentice, b. c. 1821, Essex.
- Edward Prentice, b. c. 1826, Essex. It is unclear whether he is the Edward Prentice shown in the 1851 census in Aldham, Essex, as b. c. 1827 in Boxstead (indexed as Bottead), Essex, as a servant.
