1. John Prentice was likely b. c. 1820-1830 based on the 1851 birth date of his son, Archibald.
He m. Elizabeth Watson. They had 1 or more children, including:
- Archibald Prentice, b. c. 1851, West Calder, Scotland. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [2]
2. Archibald Prentice was b. c. 1851 in West Calder per Jan Howat, email, 7 Jan 2014. She relates that his parentage is confirmed by his marriage certificate.
He m . Mary Stevenson (daughter of David Stevenson and Jeanie Adams) on 31 Dec 1875.Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland per Jane Howat, above. Archibald and Mary emigrated to Australia on board the S/S Kincardineshire arriving in Brisbane on 10 November 1883. They had 1 or more children, including:
- John McDougall Dillon Prentice, b. 29 Apr 1884, Queensland, Australia (Ref: 1884/B032404).
