Update of 6 Jun 2004: Elias is the son of William Prentiss and Emily Briggs who are descendants of Henry Prentice
1. Elias Briggs. Prentice was b. 17 Feb 1879 in PA and d. Aug 1966 in Baldwin Place, Westchester Co., NY (per SSDI). He is not in the 1880 census or IGI, but first appears in the 1900 Lowville, Lewis Co., NY census where he was a boarder in the home of Anna Crandell.
Elias m. Miriam W., b. c. 1894 in MD. Both appear in the 1920 NY, NY, NY census with 2 daughters:
- Beulah B. Prentice (adopted), b. c. 1894, GA. Since Miriam and Beulah are the same age, it suggests the possibility that Beulah might be Elias' adopted daughter by a prior marriage.
- Dorothy Prentice, b. c. 1910, NY.
