  • Although confirmation is needed, Ebezener Prentice appears to be the same person as Ebenezer Prentice, the son of John Prentice and Marion Burns, shown in our Spring 2003 article on John Prentice and Euphemia Scott of Carluke . That same relationship is indicated on multiple entries at Ancestry.com.

    1. Ebenezer Prentice was b. c. 1800 in Scotland. He appears in the 1850 Albany, NY, census, occupation: "Morocco(?) Dresses," and in the later 1860, 1870, 1900 and 1910 census in Albany, Albany Co., NY, with his wife and family.

    He m. Ann Sims per Ancestry.com . She was b. c. 1807, Scotland or NJ. Children:

    The IGI indicates at least 2 possibilities for Ebenezer's parents:

    1. Perhaps Ebenezer Prentice is the same person as Ebenezer Prentice shown in the IGI as b. 2 Jul 1800, Carluke, Lanark, Scotland, son of Archibald Prentice and Jean McNaught.

      According to the IGI, Archibald was b. c. 1763 and is called "of Spotts Cross, Lanark,Scotland, and is shown as marrying Jean McNaught 31 Dec 1791.
