William Prentiss, a Clergyman, was b. c. 1828 in NY. It seems likely that he is the unmarried William H. Prentiss, Baptist Minister, who appears in the 1850 census in Pulteney, Steuben Co., NY. It also seems likely that he is the W. H. Prentiss, "C. C. Baptist," who apepars in the 1860 census in Dix, Schuyler Co., NY, with his wife and children.
William and his family remained in NY until at least 1869 when his daughter, Nettie, was born there. William then appears the next year in MI in the 1870 Girard, Branch Co., MI census as a Clergyman with his wife and family.
