By Linus Joseph Dewald Jr., Editor

1. William Prentice was b. c. 1850 in Ireland (However, the 1900 census record for his son, Hiram, says William was b. in Scotland). He appears in the 1880 Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY census with his wife and family. He does not appear in the 1900, 1910 or 1920 census. census.

He m Mary A., b. c. 1851 in Ireland. Children (per 1880 census):

2. Hiram Prentice, b. Mar 1866, NY. A person of this name and date appears in the 1900 Brooklyn, NY, census, but it is unclear whether he is the Hiram Prentice who appears in the 1880 New York City, Kings Co., NY census (indexed as Midam Prentice) with his wife and family because it shows' Hiram's father as b. in Scotland and mother in NY instead of both parents b. in Ireland as in the 1880 census.

In any event, this Hiram Prentice m. Rosina, b. Aug 1878, NY. He does not appear in our copies of the 1910 and 1920 NY census. Children:
