1. Daniel Meech Prentice was b. c. 1817, CT, and d. 17 Feb 1886, Norwich, CT, and bur. Yantic Cemetery. He appears in the 1850 and 1860 Norwich, CT census with his wife and family. He does not appear in our extracts from the 1880 census and may be then be deceased.

He m. Angeline Clarke Bassett on 2 May 1846, Guilford, CT. She was b. c. 1820, CT. Her obituary reads as follows at ACSwebnetworks.com:

    Mrs. Daniel Meech Prentice died at Southport, CT, on August 2nd last. She was born at Guilford, CT, and resided for many years at Norwich. The funeral services at Christ Church, Norwich, were conducted by Fr Brown, assisted by Dr. Nelson, the rector. Mrs. Prentice was a devoted member of this parish, and, despite advanced years, a regular attendant at all services,

  1. George Bassett Prentice, b. c. 1848, CT. He may be the George B. Prentis, age 32, shown in the 1880 Putnam, Windham Co., CT census as living in a boarding home, unmarried. He was then working at the Freight Depot. He m. Helen Grace Norton on 25 Jun 1889 in Manhattan, New York, New York.
  2. Daniel Prentice, b. c. 1851, CT. He does not appear in the 1880 census and was either missed or was by then deceased. He m. Fannie Mills on 25 Jan 1876, Manhattan, New York, New York. She was the dau. of Edward Mills and Fanny Robinson. She was the dau. of Marcus Sortes Norton and Almira Pow Dugalls.
  3. Thomas Morgan Prentice, b. Jul 1856, CT. . . . . . . . [2]

2. Thomas M. Prentice, was b. Jul 1856, CT. He appears in the 1900 and 1920 New Haven, New Haven Co., CT census with his wife. In the 1930 census he is living with his son in New Haven and his wife may then be deceased.

He m. Carrie Winner Fremper on 4 Mar 1886, Manhattan, New York, NY. She was b. Sep 1859, NY, dau. of George Washington Fremper and Clara Fuller Abbot. Children:

  2. Ellsworth S. Prentice, b. Dec 1886, NY. . . . . . . . . . [4]
  3. Helen M. Prentice, b. May 1887, NY.

3. (probably) Jessie Prentice, b. c. 1885, MA. He m. Ethel, b. c. 1908, MA. They had 1 or more children, including:

  1. Reginald W. Prentice, b. 28 Jul 1923 in MA and d. 24 Dec 1990 (per SSDI). He m. Cora H. Richards who was b. c. 1925 and d. c. 25 Mar 1999. Her obituary in the Springfield Union-News contains the following information:

      Cora H. (Richards) Prentice, 74, 252 Crystal Lake Road, Tolland, CT, a former Springfield, Mass., resident and a long-time resident of this area, died Tuesday at Rockville General Hospital, Rockville. She was a retired restaurant manager for Howard Johnson's of Vernon. She was born in Palmer, MA and was a member of the Tolland Congregational Church.

      She left a son, Arthur D. Supernor of Tolland, and a brother, Clarence Richards of Harpswell, Maine. She also left 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

      Undertaker: Byron's Allen Street Funeral Home, in Springfield. Burial at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, in Springfield.

    It may be that the son identified, Arthur D. Supernor, was a son of a prior marriage. She may also have had other children who predeceased her.

4. Ellsworth S. Prentice, b. Dec 1886, NY. He does not appear in the 1880 census. Her appears in the 1930 census in New Haven, New Haven Co., CT, living in his widowed father's home and with his wife, Louise C., b. c. 1888, CT. No children are shown.
