We are helping Sylvianne (Forsythe) Penner, Denyse Smith, Joyce Moore, Ted Smith and John and Renee Levesque in attempting to identify ancestry of two Prentice sisters who married 2 of Sylvianne's great-great-great uncles. Here is what we have so far:

1. Richard Prentice lived in Nepean, Ontario, Canada. Nepean abuts Ottawa and the famous Rideau Canal runs through Nepean and then through Ottawa. We do not yet have a birth date and place for Richard, but he was likely born between about 1760 and 1785.

He m. Unknown. By E-mail of 11 Feb 2000, Sylvianne provides some additional information about Richard and his daughters.

Sarah m. Job Moore in a double ring ceremony at the home of Roger Moore in Nepean, in 1815. By email of 6 Sep 2004, Denyse Smith says that Job & Sarah came from the USA in 1792 and that Job was the son of Dudley Moore (son of Jedediah Moore and Dorothy Bignal) & Sarah Milk. Job and David Moore had a well known lumbering business in Hull, Quebec, now the site of the Eddy Match Company on the shores of the Ottawa River and across from the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, Ontario.

One would suppose that Richard Prentice likely had other sons and daughters not yet known to us.

Many of John & Elmire’s children resided on property near their home. I have seen Elmire’s date of death recorded as 1891 and buried in Fort Coulonge, Quebec.
