Spring 1999 and Revised 8 Jan 2008

Update of 8 Jan 2008: This article has now been replaced by our later Spring 2008 article about Alexander Prentice of Liverpool, England, Canada, and US

We are helping David A. Prentice in his efforts to trace his roots. By E-mail of 5 and 11 Jan 1999, he identifies his family tree as follows:

1. Alexander Prentice, Sr., was born in Wales, probably between 1875-1900. Nothing further is presently known about him or his wife. He had at least one son:

  1. Alexander Prentice Jr. . . . . . . . [2]

2. Alexander Prentice Jr., son of Alexander Prentice Sr, of Wales. Alexander Jr's birth date is not known, but, using some rules of thumb, was likely 1900-1922. The place of his birth is not known, but perhaps was in the general area of Speke, England where they were living at the time of W.W. II. Speke lies just south of Liverpool. He operated an aircraft repair shop. During that war the family moved to South Africa, later to Canada, and then to the United States. Alexander died in 1961 in Canada.

Alexander had an older brother, Archibald, now deceased. He also had a twin brother, unnamed, who died at birth.

Alexander m. Devina Stenhouse. He had at least the following children:
