George appears in the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Avondale, Chester Co., PA census. The 1900 census shows both of his parents as born in PA. In the 1900 and 1920 census George and his wife are living next door to his wife's parents, David and Sarah Pyle.

George m. Mary Elizabeth Pyle. She was b. Aug 1868 in West Marlborough, Chester Co., PA. Skhe was the dau. of David Franklin Pyle (1835-1923) and Sarah Jane Shaw (1847-1926).     REICHLE, GERTRUDE PRENTISS, 94, of Ocean City, died Saturday, January 12, 2002 in The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she had been an Ocean City resident for 78 years.

    She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, past president of the Rotary Ann's and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #83, all of Ocean City, and an avid bridge player. She had worked as a secretary for Clayton Haines Brick Real Estate in Ocean City during the 1920's and 1930's and later had worked for Forrest Laundry in Ocean City.

    She was predeceased by her husbands Edward B. Reichle and Harold I. Prentiss.

    Surviving are four sons, C. Richard Reichle of Mt. Laurel, John A. Reichle of Ofallon, MO, William R. Reichle of Hockessin, DE, and Donald of Bear, DE. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

    A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Greate Room of The Shores of Wesley Manor, 2201 Bay Avenue, Ocean City. Burial will be private in Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona. The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to The Shores at Wesley Manor, Ocean City, NJ 08226. 4. Robert Barnard Prentiss, b. 31 Oct 1914, PA, and d. 3 Mar 1984, GA (per wife's obit., SSDI and Ancestry.com: One World Tree ). 1920 in Wilmington Ward 9, New Castle, DE. 1930 in Avonbdale, Chester Co., PA.

From her obituary, we know that he m. Arnita M. Markley who was b. 1 Feb 1919 in Newtown Square, PA and d. 21 May 2005 in Vergennes Residential Care Home, Vergennes, West Chester, VT. She was the dau. of Arundel and Caroline Thomas Markleyand had lived in VT for the 3 years preceding her death. She was a member of Century Club in West Chester, Pa., and a hospital volunteer. She had the opportunity to travel extensively with her husband during their retirement. A funeral service was held in PA with a memorial service later in VT. Children of Robert and Arnita:

  1. Norman Bruce Prentiss, of West Chester, PA.
  2. Arnita Lynn Prentiss of Richmond. She m. Mr. Rosenfield and had:
    1. (son) Rosenfield.

Arnita was survived by a sister, Helen Markley Boals and her husband, James, of Lancaster, PA. Arnita had a previously sister, Annabelle Markley Gibbons.
